An important component of Affinity Technology Partner’s vision is “to benefit our community and the greater world through philanthropic partnerships,” so we’d like to make sure our network knows about an important day for the nonprofit community.  GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity.  It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

GivingTuesday encourages people to give any and every Tuesday -- whether it’s time, a donation, or the power of one’s voice in their local community. The organization champions this simple idea: every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.

GivingTuesday is counting down to the world’s biggest day of generosity: November 30th, 2021. In 2020, GivingTuesday raised $2.47 billion in 24 hours, with 33.1 million participants.

How can you get involved in Nashville, TN and your community?

Affinity Technology Partners is proud to directly partner with Thriftsmart, Daystar Ministries, Justice and Mercy International, Mercy Multiplied, Music Health Alliance, and other local nonprofits that we would encourage you to volunteer with or support this GivingTuesday.

On the GivingTuesday website, there are many ideas for how to get involved with local nonprofits, as well as links to connect with Nashville’s local GivingTuesday movement. Amy Alaways, founder of Nonprofits of Nashville, advocates for local nonprofits, while helping to plug locals into volunteer opportunities. Some of the local Nashville nonprofits include Best Buddies, Nashville Street Barbers, and Relief Without Borders. On the site, there are tools and resources for nonprofits as well, such as social media and email templates along with best practices, available to create a successful GivingTuesday activation.

Expressing gratitude toward our essential workers, volunteering time spent at a local nonprofit, and showing support for community organizations are ways to give generously.
