CamScanner: A Simple, On the Go Document Scanning App

The drastic improvement in smartphone and tablet cameras has great implications for business. One such benefit is that apps like CamScanner now allow you to use your phone or tablet's camera to scan documents. You just open the app, snap a picture of the document, make any necessary lighting or cropping adjustments, and you're good to go!

CamScanner is particularly nice because it allows you to sync scanned documents across all your devices. It also allows you to annotate and, with the paid version of the app (see below), actually edit the scanned document.

Pricing and Availability

CamScanner is available for smartphones and tablets across a number of mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8. There is a free version with more limited capabilities, and there's also a subscription "Premium" version available for $4.99/month. The Premium version, of course, eliminates adds and packs more features, including better quality scans and password protection for document images.
